Help protect the habitat of endangered and threatened shorebirds like Piping Plover and Least Tern that breed on Sandy Hook from mid-March through September. Volunteers will work with the National Park Service to repair and install fencing that helps protect critical nesting areas. It is an enjoyable and very worthwhile way to spend a day! If you are interested, meet the National Park Service coordinator at the Visitor's Center on Sandy Hook at 9:00 am. Dress in warm layers, including a windbreaker, and be sure to bring work gloves and wear sturdy shoes. Bring lunch. If you are interested in becoming a shorebird warden, please call park ranger Jeanne McArthur-Heuser at (732) 872-5936. Your help
would be greatly appreciated!
